16 , 2009: A Hotter Sound for Summer |
|
After
months of holing up and buckling down to record our demo,
Prairie Soul finally emerged from the studio to play a fun
and well-received show at Music Folk on Sunday, March
8 (pictures coming soon and possibly some song clips). It
was great to get in front of an audience again-especially
one as enthusiastic as the Music Folk crowd-and we were particularly
excited about the great response to our new material. Thanks
to Mark and the crew at Music Folk for hosting the concert,
and thanks to Caravelle for their own engaging and
eclectic set.
Given the great response to our brand-new, more-upbeat covers
(including our first full-band instrumental number), we're
proud to say that Prairie Soul will be adding more energy
and more variety to our summer shows. To see what we mean,
be sure to keep up with our busy summer gig schedule and stop
by to check out our sound, which is just a bit hotter and
a little more toe-tappin' than ever before, if we do say so
ourselves!
A quick look at the upcoming gig list on your left shows that
we're continuing to add gigs at a pretty quick pace. Up next
is our first stop at Thurman
Grill & Provision. Join us an evening of eclectic
fare and some new tunes. Mark your calendar for our performance
at Chesterfield
Arts Fridays Uncorked event on May 1. This fundraising
event features a complimentary drink, dessert, Prairie Soul
tunes, and some great visual art too! The Laumeier
Art Fair in St. Louis, where we'll take the stage at noon
on Saturday, May 9, is a great opportunity to catch PS tunes
and support local, regional and national artists. And of course,
June 6 will see us return to Kirkwood
Farmer's Market, where we hope you'll stop to enjoy fresh
PS tunes and fresh produce, too.
Be sure to watch the site in the weeks ahead, because booking
for several more spring and summer shows is in the works.
Stay tuned, and we'll see you soon!
