It's
been a whirlwind summer gig season so far, and Prairie
Soul has no plans to slow down!
In
fact, the last weekend in August will see us playing not once,
but twice - at Ferguson's Citywalk Concert Series on
Friday the 28th at 7 p.m. and at the scenic Chandler Hill
Vineyards in Defiance on Sunday the 30th from 1 to 4 p.m.
As
veterans of the Ferguson Farmer's Market, we know for
a fact that the town values good times, great music and lively
outdoor events that really bring the community together. Taking
place in Ferguson's thriving Citywalk business district, the
concert series showcases regional artists in a fun, family-friendly
atmosphere. We're thrilled and honored to be taking the stage,
and we hope you'll bring along a few lawn chairs and join
us for the evening.
Chandler
Hill Vineyards is another familiar gig for Prairie Soul,
and we can't wait to get back! In addition to stunning wines
and excellent food, Chandler Hill offers a gorgeous view from
the deck: endless green fields, an idyllic farmhouse and the
lovely vineyard itself provide the perfect scenery for a late-summer
afternoon. But don't take our word for it-come see for yourself!
We've heard from a couple of dozen friends and fans that they'll
be joining us, so come early and stay all day...
And
if a smaller-scale gig with a few musical surprises strikes
your fancy, check out Rich and Ben's acoustic duo project
at one of our two upcoming gigs: CooperElla Café
in Mapelwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 21, and Hartford
Coffee Company in south St. Louis at 7 p.m. on Saturday,
September 12. The duo will perform covers ranging from jazz
standards to bluegrass classics as well as a few original
tunes from Rich Simmons' soon-to-be-released solo album and
from Ben's other projects!
