The
cooler temperatures remind us that our outdoor season of gigs
is ending very soon. Our gigs on Sept. 13, Oct. 5, and Oct.
11 are all outdoor affairs and located in some very nice settings.
After that we return to being inside musicians again at Wine
Country Gardens, Allandale Brewing, and Third
Degree Glass Factory. We hope to see soon at one of these
gigs!
We
wanted to take a moment to tell you about Wine
Country Gardens since it's a little different gig than
you may be used to. Located in Defiance, MO, WCG is a little
bit a garden nursery, a little bit a winery, and a lot of
fine dining. On Oct. 25, join Prairie Soul at one of WCG's
themed dinners. A menu is yet to be announced, but be prepared
to be wowed by the cuisine, a beautiful setting on a fall
night, and a big ol' hunk of Prairie Soul tunes.
One
other gig of note is our first appearance at Kirkwood's Allandale
Brewing. One of the burgeoning number of micro-breweries
in town, Allandale has opened an entire room devoted to music.
We're excited to play a place like this with a stage, house
sound, and a professional sound man. As silly as it seems,
it'll be fun to pretend we're rock stars if only for one night!
We
also want to thank Andy Ploof for sitting in with us
at the Boathouse a few weeks ago. Unexpectedly and sadly,
Ben became unavailable for our much anticipated gig. We considered
cancelling it, but gave our friend Andy
a call instead. He came to the rescue, figuratively riding
a white steed, and played beautifully. Many, many thanks to
Andy and also to all of you who came out for such a great
evening.
Some
time in the next few weeks, we'll begin work on a new demo
CD. We want to capture the various styles we play in a
better quality recording than our last demo, so we'll be working
with Ben at his studio and doing a little multi-layering of
parts. If it turns out as well as we imagine, we'll add sound
samples to the website and may even make a CD available for
sale-- a common question for us.
Lastly,
if you're a regular visitor to our cyber-home, you've likely
noticed the redesigned website. Last winter, we hurriedly
put together the original website as a way of listing gigs.
We quickly learned that a hasty decision usually has limitations,
hence the new site. We hope you like it.
