Prairie
Soul returned to the Tower Grove neighborhood's favorite
local pub and eatery - Thurman Grill and Provisions -
on Friday, September 18 to play a few sets and visit with
some old friends. Thanks to Larry for handling sound and set
and up! Look for us at Thurman Grill again this winter,
when we'll bring new tunes to what's quickly becoming one
of our absolute favorite places to play.
And
if Tower Grove is in your neck of the woods, then you're in
luck: The month of October will see Prairie Soul return to
the south city neighborhood not once but twice! On Sunday
the 4th at 2:30 p.m., we'll take the stage at the Shaw
Art Fair, one of the city's most dynamic displays of art
and fine crafts by celebrated regional artists. Come check
out the dazzling collections of paintings, photography, wood
and metalwork, jewelry and more, and take advantage of a smorgasbord
of sounds ranging from Prairie Soul's upbeat Americana to
the cool jazz of Silk Pajamas!
The
following Saturday, October 11, we'll be back in Tower
Grove for the Harvest Sessions at Tower Grove Park, sponsored
by KDHX. It's the perfect chance to check out one of the
best farmer's markets around!To
close out the month of October, Prairie Soul has managed to
scare up a return engagement at Piasa Winery in Grafton,
Illinois on Halloween! We'll play from 2 til 6, and we hope
to see you there! Costumes welcome!
And
in other news…
With
all the running around that Prairie Soul has planned for the
fall and early winter, Rich and Ben have decided to put their
duo plans on hold, but not before a final gig at CooperElla
Café in Maplewood on Friday, September 25 from
6 to 8:30. The duo will serve up an acoustic sampler of bluegrass,
jazz, original tunes and more, so don't miss what may be your
last chance to catch this truly eclectic and exciting blend
of sounds and styles.
