The
days may be shorter, but not our attention span. Here's what's
in store:
Friday
the 14th marks our first-ever gig at Alandale
Brewing Company in Kirkwood. We'll be at it from 9 p.m.
to 1 a.m., playing all of your favorite Prairie Soul tunes,
as well as a few you've likely forgotten about! And while
you're enjoying the music and the brewery's cozy decor, be
sure to try a couple of Allandale's craft brews, which
have earned high marks from local beer aficionados.
The
very next Friday, November 21, marks our return to Third
Degree Glass Factory. The Third Friday Open House
event will feature glass blowing demonstrations by several
of Third Degree's tremendously talented artists. It's a fun,
funky atmosphere, and we hope you'll join us for what promises
to be an exhilarating evening of art and music. Prairie Soul
takes the stage at 8 p.m.
Stepping
outside their Prairie Soul roles, Rich and Ben will share
their original music at Webster
Groves' Natural Fact Deli on Saturday, December 6. Revisiting
crowd-pleasers and personal favorites from his 25+ years of
song writing, Rich
will perform a set of musically diverse and lyrically insightful
acoustic music. Splitting the bill with Rich will be Caravelle,
Ben's creative project, whose compelling tunes feature unique
instrumentation and elaborate three-part vocal harmony. This
gig has a $3 cover. UPDATE: This gig is cancelled
due to the closure of Natural Fact Deli. We're sorry to lose
such a fine, independent business.
As
2008 draws to a close, Prairie Soul will hunker down to finish
up our new demo! Given the big changes that have taken
place in our lineup and our sound over the past year or so,
we figure it's high time to put together a new recording that
reflects the band we've become. Look for song samples on the
website, and let us know in advance if you'd like a CD.
Lastly,
Prairie Soul would like to shout out to one of our biggest
fans. Tim has been at nearly every one of our gigs from
the beginning, but recently has had a long-overdue kidney
transplant. Things are looking up and there are no signs of
rejection thus far. We're looking forward to seeing Tim again
at our gigs and wish him the best.
The
future beyond 2008 looks bright, and we're already booking
into next spring! Stay tuned for more updates!
